Inductance sensor has high resolution, high reliability and extremely long service life, which has been widely used in precise measurement fields. Inductive micrometer is a kind of developed products based on inductance sensor, with high sensitivity, good stability, and simple structure, which is in used of digital display instead of mechanical pointer-type display. But in some cases, especially in the filed measurement, we demand not only display data sizes but also quickly reflect changing data within the range. Existing equipment has been difficult to meet the requirements and the instrument has the deficiency of lacking of digitalization, low integration, single function and so on, which affect the system development and improvement of the follow-up seriously.This thesis based on analysis the current development of the inductance micrometer at home and abroad, against the problems of the existing system, an inductance micrometer digital processing and display system based on electron column is developed for the purpose of make the instrument not only can measurement and display measurand but also can visual display the changing measurand and electron column display different colors according to the different results of compare measured data with the index set. On the basis of the original function, using FPGA to design the peripheral circuit of microcontroller can greatly simplify the hardware structure and make the system design, modification and expansion have become very flexible and convenient, which improve system integration and reliability.The system consists of two parts: the first part is the inductance micrometer analog signal acquisition and digital processing circuit which using AT89C51 as main control unit; the second part is using the structure of FPGA's LCA and its rich internal resources to design the standard logic circuit of peripheral interface in microcontroller system. Develop the program of microcontroller system with Keil C51 language and FPGA temporal logic program with Verilog language. The system can real-time display measurand and give out the judgement result of if measurand accords with index set.Finally, verification experimental results show that the system achieves the design requirements, which lay a good foundation for further practical product development.
