Automobile, acts as the modern and convenient means of transport, brings a great deal of convenience to people at the same time, but also because of traffic accidents give to the life and property safety of people bring serious of threat. Therefore, how to use the computer simulation theory comprehensively and correctly study accident reconstruction has become a research subject of important social meaning.This paper first established a mathematical model based on collision mechanics for a typical traffic accident. Make full use of the original investigation file information and gain the car instantaneous velocity before collision with theoretical analysis and deduction.Secondly, Analysis the characteristics of car and heavy truck rear-end collision. The researching contents included model simplified reasonably and established the finite element model of vehicle in FEMB, choosing element types, contacting types and welding types, setting material attribute and so on,which are the basis of setting up finite element analysis model. Researched on the vehicle deformation and energy absorption characteristics by using FEMB and LS-DYNA software, analyzed the deformation and energy absorption characteristics, then distortion analysis,velocity analysis,acceleration analysis and energy analysis of vehicles were carried on,which verify the correctness of the simulation model.Finally, the paper develops a inverted calculating method for vehicle to vehicle collision accident. The instantaneous velocity after collision are calculated on the basis of the impact locality and unreturnable distortion of collision vehicle.It simulates and reproduces the entire process for the above examples of the vehicle rear-end collision. It not only reveals directly the movement condition and shape deformation of the entire collision process,but makes the calculated speed have a good law coincidence with that by the theoretical calculations.In this paper, LS-DYNA and ETA/FEMB,which belongs to the highly nonlinear finite element software, is applied in the numerical simulation analysis for the rear-end collision. Form the comparative analysis of the application study between the classical mechanics calculation method and the finite computer simulation, it comes up with a set of the reasonable identification method on vehicle crash accident reconstruction and provides important theoretical basis in order to deal with traffic accidents.
