In recent years, more and more people have set off the development of offshore wind power project in the boom. As an important part of offshore wind power projects, the performance improvements of offshore wind turbines are concerned about by the general and professional people. Offshore wind turbine mechanical parts include hub, spindles, gear boxes, generators, towers. The hub which connects the blades and the shaft is key components of offshore wind turbine, so the improvement of its performance will play a positive role in improving function of the whole.With the growing scale of offshore wind turbines installed, domestic related research can not effectively guide the development status of offshore wind turbine. This paper focuses on load simulation of offshore wind turbine, the finite element analysis and optimal design of hub to provide a professional and comprehensive approach for hub with theoretical and practical engineering value. At the same time, it provides an analysis way for other parts in offshore wind turbine.The wind and waves are classified with the result of 956 species of extreme conditions and 66 kinds of fatigue conditions in the load simulation combined with GL standard. The load conditions are simulated to get the load close to the real load conditions as possible. This section provides a method of calculating offshore wind turbine and gets the loads of offshore wind turbine system to lay a solid foundation for the finite element analysis and optimization design.Finite element analysis of hub makes use of good interface between Pro/E and ANSYS Workbench, and then carries out the extreme and fatigue analysis with the loads simulated to meet strength requirements, which verifies the hub design is reasonable.There are overweight defects for hub based on hub cost and the whole wind turbine structure, so it needed to optimize the design of the hub. The main content of hub optimal design is losing the weight of hub under meeting the strength of the hub. Main method is setting the design variables, constraints and objective function and, collecting data points according to Monte Carlo sampling technology, calculating response to the results of each sample point, using quadratic interpolation function interpolation to arrive at the response surface, selecting the best model in the response surface, and selecting the final design parameters according to objective function. To ensure that the hub designed can run safely in any condition, strength analysis of the hub is carried out with the 10 largest ultimate load conditions.
