The non-point pollution load and stormwater system of Tianjin Chilong River Pump are studied to optimize of the rain pipe system and to control the initial rainwater pollution. The Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) is selected after comparing the widely-used non-point pollution models and considering the local characteristics. The main conclusions are as the following:(1) After the rain pipe system data of Tianjin Chilong River Pump Station is collected, the pipe network is generalized and the sub-catchment is classified with the help of Geographic Information System (ArcGIS) and the rain pipe system model of Chilong River Pump Station is established. Applying the measured data of rain runoff of Tianjin in 2009, the washoff parameters of the non-point source pollution is established. Combined with the relevant research, the non-point pollution model of Chilong River Pump Station is established.(2) The running condition of the rain pipe system of the chosen area under different rainfall intensity is simulated. By introducing the measures of the pipe node position relocation, the pipe diameter enlargement and the surface characteristics change, the overflow discharge, conduit overload and the peak flow are reduced. The outcome of the above three measures are simulated in details. The results of present approach can be applied to optimize the design and reconstruction of urban drainage network.(3) The non-point source pollution is studied by considering different conditions of rainfall intensity, functional areas and ground surface. The process of rainwater and pollution transport is obtained.(4) Based on the quantitative analysis of the load of non-point source pollution, the engineering measures of end cutoff, scattered cutoff, internal functional area cutoff are applied to control the initial rainwater pollution. The integrated operation management pattern of rain pipe network, storage pool storage, lake and river storage and sewage plant treatment are builded up. The optimized operation strategy to control the initial rainwater pollution is proposed.
