As a new method of communication of electric power, satellite communication has widely application in communication service, such as data transfer, file exchange and image transmission, etc.In resent years, all kinds of natural calamities explored in all the country, it leaded to the quantity interruption of optical cable, resulted in the China Southern Power Grid Co.,Ltd's backbone network , even the interruption of service. Electric power communication came in for seriously influence. The China Southern Power Grid Co.,Ltd puts forward that they should take advantage of the public network resource as the complement of communication of electric power system, to deal with kinds of natural calamities or the main event, using the Satellite Communication as the complement of fiber-optical communication to guarantee no interruption of translate dispatcher telephone and remote information. So, put the technique of Satellite Communication into the application of electric power system has become the most important job in the entire electric power communication.This thesis, firstly, introduce the technique of Satellite Communication, and Asian satellite resource. According to characteristic of electric power service, it analyze the requirement of satellite communication channel, and put forward that how to solve the transmission of important electric power service by using Satellite Communication technique in some emergence situation. And then, comparative analyzing existing satellite net stream, take the emergency communication system of Guangzhou Power Supply Company as an example, to introduce and analyze how the satellite communication apply to the electric power system. Last but not least, it test and analyze the function of satellite communication equipment and quality of satellite channel of electric power service in Guangzhou Power Supply Company.It aims at showing that application of satellite communication is workable by expositing the application of satellite communication, and every function of electric power service in satellite channel reaches the standard and above 95% of reliability.
