With the advantages of high pressure, small size, high efficiency, the centrifugal compressor is used in more and more areas, such as the petrochemical, refrigeration of air separation, energy and aerodynamics. The design and research of the centrifugal compressor attract technologist's increasing attention. Due to the all design parameters for centrifugal compressors coupled with each other, the structure and aerodynamic design of the blade is greatly difficult to determine. Further more, the parameters design needs to be checked and optimized by iterating calculation.Basing on the flexible tolerance polyhedron method and FORTRAN language, this paper developed a structural and aerodynamic parameters design and optimization program. A user interface by VIUSAL BASCI language was also developed. The blade geometry and flow parameters of the centrifugal compressor would be able to obtained and optimized in the program.Using the program, this paper designed a kind of centrifugal compressor geometry under the design requirements. Compared with the literature data, the validity of design results was proved. Moreover, the optimized parameters were used to model for numerical simulating. The simulation results indicated the validation of the program. By comparison, the designed results of program met the requirement. The design methods and procedures provide an utility tool for the design of centrifugal impeller, meanwhile the flexible tolerance polyhedron method has been proved to be able to guide the parameters design of the centrifugal compressor blade.
