The invention and application of Texsol is a major advance in engineering technology. In the previous studies on the Texsol, the research of glass fiber as the reinforced material of Texsol has not been reported at home and abroad. Glass fiber has many excellent material properties and broad development prospects, so in this paper, glass fiber is used to be the reinforced materials, the properties and application of glass fiber-reinforced sand are studied. This paper firstly induces the properties of Texsol and glass fiber, and then the subject of using the glass fiber as the fiber reinforced materials is proposed. Next triaxial tests and penetration tests on the stress-stain relationship, reinforcement effect and the permeability of the glass fiber-reinforced sand are performed. Finally, the stabilities of glass fiber-reinforced slope are analyzed. The effects of glass fiber length, mixing ratio, density, moisture content rate and the confining pressure on glass fiber-reinforced sand are studied by glass fiber Ttriaxial tests. The tests results are as follows:(1)There is a little effect of the glass fiber on stress-strain relationship at a small strain level ( ? 1<1%), and stronger effect at the bigger axial strain with the increase in triaxial strain.(2)The maximum deviator stress, shear strength become bigger and reinforcing effect becomes stronger with the increase in fiber length, quantity, and density, while the influence of water content is the opposite.(3)The cohesion and angle of internal friction of the glass fiber-reinforced sand increases with the increase in length, quantity of glass fiber and density, decreases with the increase in of water contents. However the angle of internal friction changes at a little degree.(4)The initial tangent modulus of glass fiber-reinforced sand goes bigger with the increase of confining pressure, fiber length, mixing ratio and density, while the influence of water content is the opposite; According to the results, the approximate relationships between the single factors and the initial tangent modulus are obtained, which can provide references for engineering applications.Permeability tests on the permeability of the glass fiber-reinforced sand are performed, and the results show that: When the density of glass fiber-reinforced sand is 95%, the permeability of glass fiber-reinforced sand values in the range 0.008cm/s and 0.011cm/s.Glass fiber-reinforced sand can be applied to reinforce the engineering. The slope stabilities of glass fiber-reinforced sand are analyzed by CHASM, which is a commercial software mainly applied in the assessment of slope stability. It is shown that the slope safety factors increase significantly induced by glass fiber sand, and which goes bigger with the increase in the fiber length, the quantity and the thickness of reinforced sand; At the same time, the depth of sliding are goes deeper with the increase of the reinforcement thickness. In engineering projects, the fiber length, quantity and reinforcement thickness should be appropriately selected after considering the actual engineering situation and economy.
