The intake system is an important part of engine .The design of structural parameters and layout not only affect the engine volumetric efficiency and the the inlet uniformity of cylinder,but also has a great impact on the using life and the noise of the engine . Therefore, how to design the intake system of the engine more efficient is the work that many researchers pursued all their life,and the research methods and design concepts of engine intake system have always been explored .LJ465Q is developed by liu zhou wuling liuji power corporation many years ago, it is widely used and has played a significant role in the industrial and agricultural production , especially in small and medium sized agricultural machinery and mini-cars .With technological progress and social development, the power and emissions performance are increasingly demanded. However, because the original designer to design the engine according to their experience and meanwhile, there is no corresponding calculation and analysis software, there are some problems in the structure parameters of the intake system and needs to be optimized .This paper based on the original engine of LJ465Q, the intake system gives the pre-design according to fluid and gas dynamic, obtains the optimize structural parameters of the engine , including the outside intake pipe, the resonant tank , and intake manifold . This paper using CAD software for three-dimensional shape of the intake system , and changed the format by the format conversion software through into GMBIT, then using the CFD software for simulation. Finally obtained the inside flow field of t he intake system. Comparison the flow of different structural types of the intake system, obtained the best structure parameters of the model. Finally, the new and old intake system engine been tested by the Engine Testing Beach. According to the experiment, the power of performance of the new intake system has been greatly improved , the Maximum torque has been significantly increased and achieved the desired effect.This paper shows that, with the engine performance requires more and the popularity of a variety of simulation software applications, the combining use of CAD and CFD is a very effective means of design approach in the field of modern engine design, complex dynamic calculation and optimization is no longer been a barrier of the researchers .This in not only greatly reduced the time of the intake development cycle and saved the costs, but also the data and research methods which gets from the research provide a reliable basis to improve the engine in the future .
