Structures with irregular plane have an important effect on seismic performance. In order to reduce the harm of torsional response,improving the torsion resistance ability of structures is an important design concept.The technique of passive energy dissipation has been rapidly growing. This technique reduces the structural response through mounting dissipative devices into the buildings.Based on the status of theory of energy dissipating structure,a series of research is earried out on vibration control of plan-asymmetric frame buildings with passive energy dissipation dampers,which mainly includes seismie response analysis of frame buildings with dampers,optimal distribution of dampers in asymmetric structures and the seismic design of passive energy dissipated structures. The research work is done in below parts:①This paper briefly reviews that the study of torsional response control of asymmetric structures both at home and abroad. The definition of plan-asymmetric frame buildings and seismie response analysis are also introduced.②Mechanics analysis model of viscous damper is established. On the theoretical basis of the equivalent linear theory on viscous damper,the single degree of freedom(SDOF) system program is made to preliminarily analyse the error of equivalent linear method. Then,The relationship of parameters of fluid viscous damper are discussed.③Based on the analysis model and method of energy dissipating structure with fluid viscous damper,The equation of motion of an eccentric building is established and the dynamic elastoplastic seismic response analysis program is made. through the dynamic analysis of reinforced concrete frame structure with rigidity eccentricity,the torsional response of structures with fluid viscous dampers can be reduced.④The paper researches layout principle and optimization algorithm of structures with fluid viscous dampers based on the genetic algorithm(GA) theory. GA optimization procedures is made by using GATBX toolbox in MATLAB,and the optimal distribution of structures with fluid viscous dampers is carried out. Comparing the response of the structure before and after optimal distribution,the result shows that the response of the structure can be effectively reduced under the condition of constant total damping coefficient. ⑤The finite element software ETABS is used to establish 3-dimensional space analysis model of 12-layer asymmetric structure with fluid viscous dampers. The integral seismic analysis is performed by using the response spectrum method and nonlinear time history under frequent earthquake. The seismic behaviors and effectiveness of the control are compared for uncontrolled and controlled structure. Simultaneously,optimal distribution of structures with fluid viscous dampers is achieved.
