Previous study has showed that the reasonable location of viscous fluid damper can not only improve the seismic performance of structures and reduce damage,but can reduce the cost.Considering the requirements of safety,comfort and economy of the building structure,the article puts forward an improved genetic algorithm based on the optimization of seismic performance of the building and quantity of dampers to reduces the cost of structure under the premise of guaranteeing the seismic performance of the building.According to the test data of shaking table,the time history analysis program of building structure is programmed by Wilson-? method.The correctness of the program is verified by comparing the analysis results with the test results.This paper presents a new method to optimize the location function of viscous fluid damper with the consideration of structural seismic performance and number of dampers.According to the test data of shaking table,the improved genetic algorithm is realized by MATLAB,and the correctness of the algorithm is verified by comparing the analysis results with the test results.The improved genetic algorithm is applied to the structure of different heights,and the range of the objective function coefficients is determined by comparing the optimization schemes of the dampers under different objective function coefficients.Combined with the engineering example,the damper layout scheme is solved by using the improved genetic algorithm,and the effectiveness of this method is obtained by comparing the analysis results to the actual arrangement.At the same time,it can be concluded that under the premise of satisfying the requirement of seismic performance optimization,the algorithm can find out the least number of dampers,thus realizing the cost savings.
