"Puzhuang Suo", as a national cultural relic protection unit, locates in Cangnan county, Zhejiang province. It remains the coastal defense system since Ming Dynasty as part of the defense system framework and is confirmed as high historical value. Protction and utilization of which becomes the focal point of this thesis.During the research, "Puzhuang Suo" is firstly defined as a defensive village type due to its historical heritage attribute and research purpose in the thesis. Monadical protection of cultural relic should be developed into a intergrative protection stage.Then the thesis concludes the generation and development reason of "Puzhuang Suo" military settlement from institutional, spatial and social perspectives. Meanwhile, in accordance with the site study, thesis takes the external and internal spatial pattern as the starting points, and reveal the planning structure based on both military function and daily living request.In the end, due to current situation, intergrative protection concept is rised concering functional transformation, sptatial growth and social fundamental reconstruction. Multi-subject protection metheds will be introduced in historical, social and economic ways to realise a intergrative protection strategy. And this will somehow provides relevant references for military settlement restoration in the case.
