Ground launching of UAV is a potential technology which will greatly improve effectiveness and application rang of UAV. Rocket booster ground launching is a technology which has a high degree of difficulty and multiple influence factors.Based on the research on different installation configurations of booster rockets, a preliminary analysis of their dissimilar characteristics from the perspective of aircraft conceptional design is given firstly. Then, single ventral booster rocket configuration and tail booster rocket configuration, as the typical separation configurations, is discussed. Based on the structured grid and chimera grid technique, and consideration of jet interference, the 6DOF motion body simulations of booster rocket separation phase at subsonic speed and supersonic speed are applied. In the end, aerodynamic characteristics of UAV and booster rocket in the separation phase are analyzed, and the error and precision of the simulations are then analyzed and conclusions concerning UAV aeroforce and moment variation are drawn. The research of this thesis will offer some reference for separation configurations, thermal protection, flight control in the separation phase, the ground launching system and the separation system of UAV design.
