Ground launching technology which researched in this paper refers to accelerate the UAV to a specified speed and height by a solid rocket booster (SRB).Then, the SRB separates from the UAV. This technology has been greatly improve the effectiveness and application rang of UAV, increased the velocity of UAV, perfected the overall performance, advanced carrying capacity of UAV.This paper based on the separate configurations of space shuttle. Frequently-used SRB configuration is summarized, merit and demerit is analyzed and a two-SRB-on-wing configuration is chosen to be researched in this paper. According to the structured grid and chimera grid technique,6DOF motion body simulations of solid rocket booster separation process at both subsonic speed and supersonic speed are calculated. Then the aerodynamic characteristics of UAV and SRB are got with a focal point on the trajectory of SRB after separation and fluid field influenced by the separation. At last, all kinds of factors which influence precision of simulation and residual are analyzed. This study indicates a good way to the design of launch system, choice of separation facility and design of control law.
