While the global economics is strongly promoted by automobile industry, the automobile also gives rise to the road accident, and the tire blow-out accident is most dangerous. The serious result of tire blow-out drives people to pay more attention to the blow-out automobile active safety. So the research on the tire blow-out vehicle is significant and indispensable. Based on the virtual road test, the running state and control of tire blow-out vehicle was studied in the paper, the main work contents are as follows:(1) Based on the theory of vehicle dynamics, a 15 degree-of-freedom vehicle model was set. The vehicle tire models were built up based on the Pacejka semi-empirical formula. With the research progress at home and abroad, a blow-out tire model was also proposed.(2) Based on the Visual C++ 6.0 Software, the Vehicle Virtual Simulation Test System (VVSTS) was tentatively built with the help of Object-Oriented Technique. With the serial communication technology applied, the Software in Loop System was built up based on the VVSTS.(3) In order to verify the vehicle model, the CarSim software was introduced in the paper. The double lane change test and snake lane change test were respectively carried out on CarSim and VVSTS. The simulation test results show that the vehicle model was well built, and the model could effectively reflect real vehicle running state.(4) Based on the VVSTS the tire blow-out tests were carried out, including the straight running test and circle running test. The simulation results show that the rolling resistance and lateral force of blow-out tire have great influence on vehicle running state.(5) According to the dynamic characteristics of blow-out vehicle and the simulation results, the blow-out braking controller was designed based on the PID control strategy, and the Software in Loop test was carried out to test the controller. The results show that the blow-out braking controller has good performance of active braking control with well controlled yaw angle and ideal braking distance. The blow-out vehicle can be controlled in a steady running state, and the probability of blow-out accident can be held at a low level.The research provides the theory basis on the active safety technology of tire blow-out vehicle. As the research reference, the research could also help some other active safety researches in the future.
