At present, the digitalization, intelligence and integration becomes advanced hot topic, and its development trend is inevitable for AC Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor servo system's development. In the process of realizing these goals, FPGA is used for servo driver system. Because the chip has some advantage, such as, it could be designed flexibly in software, it can run many programme in the same time, and also, it includes many embed digital system function, and so on. It has been accepted more and more concerned. Here, it is researched in using FPGA as the main control chip to drive the PMSM servo driver system.Firstly, the current loop and speed loop of PMSM servo driver system were deeply studied, and the two loop models were established. And also, the two loop models have being modeled and provided simulate result through Simulink. Through these processes, it has been proved accurately and has been validated in control based on theory.Secondly, based on the two loops of servo driver system and the design idea of the FPGA chips characteristics and modularization, it was deeply studied in current-loop feedback channel, current-loop main channel, speed-loop PI adjuster and communication. Also, the results of behavior simulation were provided by Modelsim XE, and the schematics of register transfer level were offered by ISE synthesis. In the current-loop channel, transferring the current value and data format linearly could get over the error and large memorizer of calculating the current value, and also get over the limitation of programmable data processing. Besides of these, the static clock analyzer and power analyzer having been applied to time sequence and power dissipation of the design FPGA circuits was more accurately.At last, based on servo driver system theory, the printed circuit board for system control has been designed. At the base of this printed circuit board, the experiment platform has been built. And this experiment platform was used to simulate and validate. The results indicate feasibility and validity of the servo driver system based on FPGA.
