With the development of economics, more and more light steel industrial plants were built in the southeast coastal areas; the maintence structure of this kind building is sensitive to the wind load. The coast area of Guangdong province is one of the most serious areas that are affected by the typhoon and storm. Typhoon caused huge agricultural and industrial losses every year. The industrial economic loss caused by the damage of plants'windows and doors is particular large. This essay establishes a full-scale model. Simulate the wind load characteristic of the plants and analyze typhoon vulnerability. At last obtain the failure probability under certain wind velocity of building with opening and enclosed construction. The main contents of this essay are as follows:First the author carried out pre-disaster and post-disaster investigation of Coastal areas of Guangdong's industrial plants. Most plants in this region is the light steel industrial plants. Their windows and door are always large, the roof is light steel. The doors,windows and roofing damaged more seriously inTyphoon. The doors,windows and roofs were always destroyed at the same time.Second author investigated some real plants and consulted lots of light steel industrial plants structure drawings. The author finally obtained the total wind pressure coefficient of every part of the plant with openings and the relationship between the coefficient and the opening porosity through a full scale numerical simulate of the typical plants .This coefficient is applied to the vulnerability research.At last author used the concept of the probability to analyze the typhoon vulnerability of the industrial plants with openings in coastal areas of Guangdong. According to the investigation of the disaster, we could get two kinds of failure mode of the plants. We can create the performance function of the failure mode and calculate the failure probability with checking point method. Then we can get the vulnerability curve of the plants under two conditions:Opening and no opening. Author gives some advices about the design and construction of light steel industrial plants.
