The fuel gas enterprise flourishes with the progress of city modernization and development of the gaseous fuel resources. The development of the gas enterprise promotes the environmental protection, energy conservation and the development of industry, agriculture and people's living level. Gas transmission system is needed to convey the gas sources to the terminals. The gas pressure regulators decompress the high-pressure gas, and keep the outlet pressure constant. The standard of CJ 274 requires test of the gas pressure regulators. This article analyses the flow coefficient and static performances of the gas pressure regulators, which demonstrate the basic performances of the gas pressure regulators. The flow coefficient of the gas pressure regulators reveals the flow capacity of the gas pressure regulators. In this study, the flow coefficient of the gas pressure regulators is analyzed theoretically first. The calculation formulas of flow rate are then described. Eventually, the experimental devices are established for researching flow coefficient of the gas pressure regulators. The experimental results showed that that the flow coefficient of the gas pressure regulators is suitable for indirect acting pressure regulators but direct acting pressure regulators. The static performances of the gas pressure regulators reveal the variation of outlet pressure with the change of flow rate or inlet pressure. Three experiment methods, such as discharge characteristic experiment, pressure characteristic experiment and complement pressure characteristic experiment are adopted to get the static performances of the gas pressure regulators. The experimental devices are established for researching static performances of the gas pressure regulators. The experimental results showed that discharge characteristic experiment can satisfy the demand of AC easier than pressure characteristic experiment, and the performances of the pressure characteristic experiment are the same as complement pressure characteristic experiment.
