Chinese classical gardens is to abound charm, has important position in the history of world gardening cannot be ignored. Its unique gardening theory and gardening skills all lets people to follow for thousands of years, for today's landscape planning and design also still has very important reference and guidance.This paper standed in the perspective of Chinese aesthetics of the Qi theory to study the classical gardens. In the existing garden esthetics monographs, although already appeared about Qi sporadically, but mostly discussed all failed to form strong system, so this paper is going to try to explore in this aspect somewhat.Qi first as a philosophical category, then be introducing aesthetic field, gradually developed into a huge aesthetic system. Qi are reflected in various art, of course, including the Chinese classical gardens. This paper is extracted from Chinese aesthetics of the Qi theory of Qi,Xiang,Yun as the core concept of the full text. Qi as a basic concept, Xiang and Yun are auxiliary concept, there is a dialectical unification relations between them, around the three concepts expands discussion.Firstly, this paper expounded the generation and development of Chinese aesthetics of the Qi theory, put the three concepts of Qi,Xiang,Yun into the classical garden research,compared Chinese aesthetics of the Qi theory in the garden with the relevant theories of similarities and differences.Secondly, analyzed the classical gardens in the development process of the influ- ence by Chinese aesthetics of the Qi theory, divided into three development stages Qi——Xiang——Yun. Induced different kinds of approach reflecting the Xiang, Qi, Yun.Finally, applied it into the creation of modern landscape design, for example in Square Pagoda Garden of Songjiang discussed presentation of Xiang, Qi, Yun.
