Aesthetics Of Chinese Classical Garden Space

Classical Chinese gardens are the treasure of Chinese art. There are many concepts in classical garden space could be discussed, such as Nihility and Existence、Artistic conception、the form, as well as the changes of the aesthetic psychology when the beholder put themselves into the process of the aesthetic appreciation in the gardens. All of them are the important issues in aesthetics.This thesis is divided into three parts. In the first chapter, the author analyzes the connotation and characteristics of classical Chinese garden space, as well as the influence of Chinese traditional culture on classical gardens, in order to establishes the theoretical foundation for analyzes of the space of Classical Chinese gardens. The second chapter analyzes the construction of classical Chinese garden space, which is the focus of this paper. This part is mainly analyzes the construction technique of classical Chinese gardens、spatial hierarchical segmentation method and the ways of creating the artistic conception. The third chapter discusses the differences between Chinese and Western gardens form visual perspective、aesthetic form、artistic conception. As well as this difference reflects the different from aesthetic psychology. In the conclusion, we discuss the influence of classical Chinese garden space to western gardens. And taking the new museum in Suzhou as an example to discuss the influence of classical garden space on the modern gardens.
