Large-size 3D space coordinate measurement systems are more and more widely used in modern manufacturing industry. Theodolite coordinate measurement system is widely used in many fields for the advantages of non-contact, flexibility and high precision. The system is able to reasonably layout of its location to meet different measurement requirements. Therefore, study on the system has an important significance in research and engineering application of large-scale measurement.Calibration algorithm is the important factor for the convenient use and accuracy of the system. In this paper, two methods of calibration are studied and the effect on measurement accuracy is studied. For the feature of mobile measurement, the method of coordinate system registration under redundant data is studied, which effectively solves the problem of stations migration, and it can also be applied to other traverse measurement equipments, therefore, it has universal significance. The software design and development are completed, thus the organic integration and unity of the whole system are realized. Finally, experiments are designed and achieve good effect.The main work of this dissertation is summarized as follows:1. A variety of 3D coordinate measurement systems and theodolite system are reviewed, analyzed and compared. The research significance is presented.2. Bundle adjustment and precision aiming calibration methods are studied and their characteristics are compared.3. According to the diversification of measurement elements, a rich analysis and construction functions are added and the error evaluation methods are also proposed.4. The method of coordinate system registration under the redundant data is studied and the method for removal of oversize points is also studied.5. The design of communication, data management, functionality and interface module is realized and finally the design of whole system software is completed.6. The precisions of system modules are tested and analyzed by experiments and large amounts of data, which verify the correctness and feasibility of the methods.
