With the development of construction in our country in recent years, the Housing Industrialization has played a more and more important role in the construction field. Compared with the tradtional building systerms, the cold-formed thin-wall steel framing system has numerous merits, such as the standardization of production process, the high speed of construction and a much more reliable quality. This new type of building systerm can greatly propel the process of the Housing Industrialization, It's no doubt that this new type of building systerm has a good application prospect. However, this kind of building is mainly 2/3 storeys at present, it can not satisfy the customers' demand for the dwelling area very well. To solve this problem, this paper will study the response of a 4-storey building, considering various load combinations, especialy the seismic action; the security of the structure will be discussed in this paper as well. In this paper, the elastic-plasticity model of the building based on a reasonable assumption and an appropriate predigestion is established .Then the response of different structures in the zones with the seismic fortification intensity 8&9 is studied using the nonlinear time-history analysis method. The datail of the research is as follows:First of all, the elastic-plasticity model of the building is established, the influences of selected seismic waves and damping ratio parameters on the calculated results are assessed; according to the analysis results, the most reseasonable seismic waves and damping ratio parameters are selected.According to the results of the time-history analysis of a 3-storey cold-formed thin-walled steel structure using various kind of cold-formed thin-wall steel stud composed wall, the effects of the shearing behavior of the composed wall on the aseismatic behaviour of the structure are studied systematically.4 different kinds of models of a 4-storey building is established, considering various attributes of the exterior wall and the interior wall which use composed wall with excellent shearing performance . The results of the time-history analysis of these models indicate that the building using composed wall which has thermal insulation materials stuffed in has a good aseismatic performance, it can be constructed in the the zones where have a higher requirement for seismic fortification.Besides the horizontal shearing behavior of the 4-storey building, vertical bearing capacity of the columns considering the seismic action is studied as well. The results indicate that the effect of the seismic action of some columns in the 1 storey will exceed the ultimate bearing capacity, these columnsneed to take some necessary measures of reinforcement. According to the results of the time-history analysis of the reinforced building which considering the 2-direction seismic action, this kind of structure systerm can meet the requirements of design in the zones with the seismic fortification seldom intensity 8&9.
