Electromagnetic brake is a new brake, which has been widely applied in all kinds of occasions require emergency stop. The control system is the core of the electromagnetic brake, and its performance determines how the brake run. The control system is a bridge connecting the brake and the power, if the control system works in an inappropriate way, it will give a great deal of harmonic pollution to the power, resulting in energy waste. Meanwhile, with the widely used of power electronics, the power quality in the workplace of electromagnetic brake is bad, which is a big interference to the electromagnetic brake control system. We carry our research from two aspects, which is safe and stable operation and reduce the pollution of the harmonic, and design DSP-based electromagnetic brake control system.First, carry on the common working methods and control system, analyzed their respective advantage and disadvantages. This paper uses the strong excitation to start and weak excitation to maintain as research object, and the control target is reducing the harmonic and stable operation.Then, divides the control system into two parts, which is rectifier part and voltage regulator part, their structure, working principle and control method is detailed analyzed. We establish the mathematical model and simulation model. Through the feedback of the current in the coil and the PID control algorithm make the electromagnetic brake form a closed loop control.Additional, on the base of theoretical analysis, we make specific design in hardware and software, including the main circuit, the control circuit, the driver circuit hardware design, and control system software design. The various parts of the circuit parameters were analyzed in detail.Finally, in order to ensure the target of control system can be achieved, we make simulation analysis using Matlab. The simulation results prove that control system this paper makes can significantly reduce the harmonic pollution of the control system. By software to simulate the complex work condition, the simulation result shows that the control system can make right control action when the power exist voltage impact, voltage harmonics and voltage sags, these can ensure the brake run safely and stably. Establish experiment platform to conduct experiment research, the experiment result verify the various parts of the circuit and the software design is reasonable.
