Design Research Of Non-contact Type Mechanical Seal In High-temperature Hot Oil Pumps

The failure reasons of contact bellow mechanical seals used in centrifugal pumps for discharge high-temperature heavy oil in Guangzhou Petrochemical Company were studied, and the results showed that fluid film coking, seal ring aging, end-to heat and crack etc due to end friction heat lead to frequent failure and high incidence of fire owning to hot oil leakage which cause not only material damage, but also serious potential safety problems and other issues.This article through to the existing non-contact mechanical seal theory into learning based on the actual working condition, design calculation a non-contact + contact? series of new mechanical seal structure, and use the CFD software FLUENT its seal cavity of the fluid flow field numerical simulation, and the pressure distribution, speed distribution, particle track, swirling distribution are obtained, this well proves the feasibility of design on the structure of non-contact mechanical seal.
