Nowadays,with the development of economic society,the shipping industry has become one of the most significant ways of world trade,playing a more and more important role in economic and social activities.As the ship hydraulic equipments are now extensively used,knowing how to keep mechanical seal stable and efficient is crucial.In normal working conditions,a thin liquid film exists between rotating ring and stationary ring of the mechanical seal,whose field character and leakage are associated with the film.In this passage,we use ANSYS ICEM to finish the pre-treatment process,with the model meshed.Then,a series of field distribution images and leakage data have been got by Fluent,according to which influence of rotating speed and pressure difference can be summarized by comparison and analysis.Finally,contrastively analyze the results of simulation and experiment to check the validity of the simulation,with cause of difference realized.And,it leads to the following conclusions:(1)The distribution of film pressure and velocity is the same at same radius,mildly changing in radial direction.The fluid flow at the end face revolves around the axis.(2)When rotating speed and pressure difference changes,the distribution regularities of film pressure and velocity remain unchanged.The opening force,leakage and mean pressure decrease with the increase of rotating speed.The opening force and mean pressure increase with the increase of pressure difference.Leakage is approximately proportional to pressure difference,but when pressure difference is over 0.15MPa,it begins to decrease.The velocity distribution remains stable when pressure changes.(3)The temperature distribution changes mildly.The heat dissipation of rotating ring is better because of bigger thermal conductivity.The temperature difference of stationary ring is appropriate because the coefficient of hear transfer is at a relatively high level.(4)The temperature of rotating ring,film and stationary ring of mechanical seal increase with the increase of rotating speed and pressure difference.(5)Leakage decreases when rotating speed increases at same pressure difference.When the rotating speed remain unchanged,leakage comes to maximum at 0.15MPa pressure difference and then begins to decrease when the pressure difference keep rising.
