As a kind of structure having special function, reinforced concrete slab-column structure is more and more popular because it is flexible to use, easy to form and reduces unusable space created between stories and the hole height. However, during an earthquake or a strong wind, the resulting lateral loads and the vertical loads may cause significant shear and moment transfers at the slab-column connections, especially at exterior connections where unbalanced moment already exists due to unsymmetrical slab geometry. Currently, most tests and studies focus on interior connections, but there are few tests or studies about edge slab-column connections. A relatively new type of shear reinforcement named shear-stud reiforcement is applied in edge column-slab connections and study on the seismic behavior of these connections is conducted. Shear-stud reiforcement has many advantages, such as easy installation, effieient width control of shear cracks,fully-developing the yield strength of the studs, being made in the factory. Test of three full-scale reinforced concrete edge slab-column connections subjected to shear-moment transfer are completed in this paper. One specimen had no shear reinforcement and the remaining two had various arrangements of shear-stud reiforcement. The main contents of the study are as following:1.Test of three full-scale reinforced concrete edge slab-column connections subjected to shear-moment transfer are completed in this paper, the properties of the three edge slab-column connections under gravity and lateral reversal load are studied, such as the development of cracks, the strain distribution of bars, the load-displacement hysteretic curve and the failure mode.2.Based on these test results, from different aspects, such as deformation, energy dissipation, stiffness and strength, seismic peformance of reinforced concrete edge slab-column connections with shear-stud reiforcement are evaluated.3.From the comparison of the test results of the three specimens with and without shear-stud reiforcement, the effect of the stud at the strength, ductility and the seismic behavior is studied.4.Based on the experiment, it takes the finite element analysis(ABAQUS) to simulate these three specimens under monotonic loading, and then compares analytical results with experimental results, including the development of damage, the distribution of bars and the load-displacement curve.
