In order to realize the remote monitoring and intelligent navigation of theexcavator, a new excavator remote intelligent information system was proposed. Theembedded software and hardware systems, remote monitoring and managementplatform, intelligent navigation theory and its relevant key technologies werediscussed.Firstly, based on the excavator fleet monitoring and management ofhigh-efficiency operation construction requirements, a new excavator remoteintelligent information model and architecture was introduced.Secondly, a high reliability hardware embedded system was designed. Variety offunctional modules, power management, microstrip lines, data transmission and otherkey designs were discussed in more detail.Thirdly, the software embedded system was discussed. The section analysed thedriver program, application program and fault-tolerant program’s structure and theirapplication objects, which illustrate the feasibility of the software development.Fourthly, the development of remote monitoring and management softwareplatform was discussed. According to the type of embedded systems, datacommunication formats and monitoring requirements, the platform was designed bymodules after the further analyzed and discussed. Finally, based on the embedded hardware system, embedded software system, and remote monitoring and management platform, the intelligent navigation theoryand its key technology was discussed in this section. The experimental results show that the excavator remote intelligent informationsystems is effective in one excavators and excavators group in the remote monitoringand management operation. Besides, remote intelligent information systems alsosuccess achieves intelligent navigation and remote sensing images monitoring. Thesystem satisfies the operational requirements of intelligent excavator engineering.
