Today it hasbeen influenced by the rapid industrial growth. In the production and designaspects,Those shipyards are not well catched the essence of the protection oftraditional small vessels for profit, so we should focus on the protection of traditionalwooden boat making. For example, the small wooden boat industry of Xing Hua cityis well widely used in agriculture, fisheries, tourism and transportation aspacts; ZheJiang MINGXI wooden workshop also did well which has included in the ranks ofnational intangible cultural heritage in2008. Shao Xing has build a construction ofWu Peng Boat craftsmanship display base in the East Lake area. In this paper,through the study of traditional small wooden boat,the content focus on therelationship between people and the boat,the boat and the environment.And there is acontrast research between two kinds of Traditional wooden boat from VENICE andShao Xing city. Because of different waters and cultures the boats got a lot ofdifference on the curve design, color and the functions. Through the practice designof modern Wu Peng Boat, we got further more research about its curve. Howtraditional wooden boat will developed in the future time,weather it is necessary tocombine modern technology into the traditional skills,we need more efforts to savethe significant part of the traditional design and carry forward it.It is also important toimprove the production efficiency and high quality.
