| Modern speedboats are mainly divided into two categories, rubber boat and glass fiber reinforced plastics boat (FRP boat). Rubber boat is light and easy to carry, but its carrying capacity is small and it is not strong enough. If there are sharp objects in the water, the rubber fabric will be cut, and it will lead to the boat sink. Although FRP boat can overcome these shortcomings, it cannot be dismantled, so it has disadvantages of large size, heavy quality, lack of flexible features, not easy to carry and store. Moreover, the military landing craft’s bullet-proof performance is still not ideal. It is easy to be shot and sink in the war. So it is important to develop a landing craft with the moderate capacity, which can accommodate about10-12people, able to air-drop, stronger, lighter, man-portable and good bulletproof performance. In this study, UHMWPE fibers and foamed plastics were used to manufacture a novel landing boat. This boat is collapsible, easy to carry-on and it can be filled when it will be used.Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE) fiber has advantages of good corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, impact resistance performance and energy absorption. Therefore, the UHMWPE fiber fabric was used as the main body material of the boat in this study. But its adhesion performance with adhesives is poor, so the surface modification of UHMWPE fiber is needed. In addition, both inside and outside of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fabric on the boat should be coated with a layer of adhesive to improve the abrasion resistance and waterproof performance of the boat. Besides, the foamed plastic has advantages of low density, low water absorption, high specific strength and good absorption of impact load, so it was used as the internal padding of the boat in this study. At this time, even if the surface of UHMWPE fiber fabric was abrade in the use or shot through by the gunshot, the boat can still maintain stability and the sinking will not happen.This article adopted the chemical treatment and the air plasma treatment to modify the UHMWPE fiber surface. The chemical treatment method is divided into sulfuric acid solution treatment and hydrogen peroxide solution method. Based on the research of the UHMWPE fiber process, it is found the optimum conditions of surface modification in the air plasma treatment were obtained by the processing parameters of pressure15Pa, time5minutes and voltage15V. At this point, the bonding strength was increased by about48.75%, and the breaking strength reduced by9.7%. Besides, the optimum conditions of surface modification in the sulfuric acid solution treatment were obtained by the processing parameters of sulfate: water=4:1(mass ratio) and3seconds treatment time. At this point, the bonding strength was increased by about12.7%, and the breaking strength reduced by7.4%. In addition, the optimum conditions of surface modification in the hydrogen peroxide solution treatment were obtained by the processing parameters of hydrogen peroxide: water=4:1(mass ratio) and20seconds treatment time. At this point, the bonding strength was increased by about29.9%, and the breaking strength reduced by12.9%. Therefore, the air plasma treatment is the best treatment method among these three methods.In addition, the basic performances of the water-based acrylic adhesive with different solid contents were studied in this article. The results show that the overall performance is best when the solid content of the waterborne acrylic adhesive is42%. And based on the research of the curing process, it is found the optimum conditions were obtained by the processing parameters of temperature190°C, time5minutes, so it can meet the industrialized continuous production. At this time, the pull-out strength is83.35N, and the180°peel strength of the composite fabric is0.67N/mm. At150°C and5minutes, the180°peel strength of the composite fabric under4.9kPa pressure is close to the180°peel strength of the composite fabric which was treated under the conditions of170°C and5minutes. Therefore, extra pressure can be added on the surface of composite fabric to low the curing temperature or reduce the curing time.Moreover, on the basis of the design of the boat’s details, the boat’s bearing capacity, waterproof performance, abrasion resistance and impact resistance performance were studied. Compared with the boat made of the pure UHMWPE fabric, the waterproof performance, abrasion resistance and impact resistance of the boat which made of the compound fabric are better. In addition, the bearing performance of the boat made of the compound fabric is good enough to meet the human use, and it can also carry a certain quality goods. |
