Lane departure warning system (LDWS) is an important component of the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), to improve driving safety, avoid and reduce traffic accidents, reducing casualties and economic loss is significant. Reliability is an important cause for the driver assistance’s operational, the lane departure warning system has error alarm and poor reliability in practice. In this paper, we build a new lane departure warning system simulation platform, based on driving simulation system, which can evaluate the lane departure warning system safety and effectively, and the simulation platform laid a measure of foundation with the theoretical and experimental for perfecting system and practical.The basic idea of the model is "Trans the line to plane", according to the transverse distance, road is divided into four different levels of security regions(safe regions、alert regions、transition regions、danger regions), and build a lane departure warning system based on driveway partition(hereinafter referred as LDWSIM). Set the following parameters:critical speed, the time of continuous into the alarm zone and frequency and other parameters for the model. In the paper, determine the parameter value by experimental method. And the lane departure warning strategies send out alarm at the right time and inhibit unnecessary alarm. The model has the enable state, disable state, unavailable state.Through the Visual C++programming language, LDWSIM model and control strategy is embedded to KMRTS driving simulation experiment platform, realize the simulation of lane departure warning system. At the same time, to validate the effectiveness of LDWSIM, the entire system is going to be transplanted to the driver-in-loop test platform.The effectiveness of the LDWSIM is proved by simulator and have a low false alarm number, be accepted by drivers.In this papers, the research results of lane departure warning system provides the beneficial reference for lane departure warning system application in the actual driving environment. And the lane departure warning simulation platform provides an effective simulation platform for the research of control strategy.
