In photography, lighting engineering, medical engineering, measurement and application of illumination is becoming more and more popular. Measurement accuracy of illuminance meter is no longer the most important part of control, on the other hand, intelligent and diversified functions of hardware also put forward higher requirements. Therefore, how to use the existing hardware conditions to design a more functional and easy-to-carry illuminance measurement device for lower cost has become a hot research topic in the field of photometry.Based on the analysis of the current situation of the development of illuminance measurement, this paper designs a kind of illuminance measurement device based on single chip microcomputer. The illuminance meter use 51 single chip as the core. Through the acquisition and conversion of the optical signal, this enable it to amplify the signal, range switching, control and analog digital conversion function. Illuminance measurement system is consist of the photocell sensor, preamplifier circuit and analog digital conversion circuit, the MCU core board, keyboard circuit and display circuit. With using Keil software to program and simulate the range switching module, keyboard module, analog-to-digital conversion module, display module, it achieves the purpose of measuring intensity. The design and debugging of the measurement device can guarantee the illuminance value in the range of 11x-20001x, and the precision in 11x. At the same time, it also has the illuminance value lock function and measurement function of range conversion and dynamic intensity peak. Therefore, it can increase the measurement function diversity with the accuracy of measurement at the sametime.
