Axial Flux-Switching Hybrid Excitation Machine (AFSHEM) is a novel flux controllablemachine having magnets in the stator, which combines the advantages of axial flux-switchingmachines and hybrid excited machines, and overcomes their deficiency.They have broadprospects in the field of constant-voltage, low speed and high torque drive. Based on theAFSHEM, the structure characteritics and operating principle are analyzed. The mathematicalmodel of AFSHEM is established, and the field control simulated platform is built. In order toverify the correctness of the theory and simulation analysis, a set of field control device is made.Simulated results validated by experimental measurement show that the terminal voltage ofAFSHEM can be maintained within a certain scope by automatically regulating the field currentwhen rotor speed or load varies.The main contents and achivements of this thesis are as follows:1. The structure characteristics and operating principle are analyzed. The AFSHEM structurewith magnetic field in series and magnetic field in partical are analyzed in summary, andthe AFSHEM structure with magnetic in total parallel is deeply analyzed. Further more,the flux-switching principle and magnetic field-controlling mechanism are studied.2. The control strategy is studied and mathematical model of AFSHEM is built. In order toimprove the dynamic characteristic for constant-voltage field control system of AFSHEM,the integral-isolation PI and fuzzy control method is employed. Based on the calculationresults of finite element analysis, the mathematical model with the nonlinearelectromagnetic parameters is deduced.3. The simulated platform for constant-voltage excitation control is built. The modularAFSHEM and field control system models are established by the MATLAB software,which presents a good platform for simulation research.4. The hardware circuits and software of field control system are designed. A set of fieldcontrol device is made, based on which, some experiment for evaluating machine’scomprehensive performance and field control are carried out. The experimental resultsverify the correctness of the theory and simulation analysis.
