Guizhou Province is rich in the Coal energy resources, it is said Guizhou Province is the sea of coal in the south of China.Guizhou Province has been positioned as the national energy base in the file number 2 of National Development and Reform Commission. The resource advantages can be changed into economic advantages, the development is the top priority in Guizhou province.By the end of 2008, Ida or mine 331 have been found, the total reserves of 50.427 billion tons of coal resources. Within the province, in addition to the eastern area of this province and some belong to less coal or coal shortage areas, the 87 counties in the province, there are 74 coal-producing counties, coal-bearing area accounts for 40% or more of the province’s land area. Current proven reserves of up to 20 billion tons of anthracite. In regions which are rich in coal resources have more than 20 large thermal power plant, which is an important energy base which is power transmission from west to east, the majority of units are burning anthracite, so the down-firedboiler technology of the Dongfang Boiler Group, Beijing Babcock & Wilcox boiler manufacturing company and United States FosterheeLe three companies are introduced. In this paper, a Babcock & Wilcox of Beijing’s 300MW W flame boiler-based model, aimed at improving the energy efficiency of the existing operation of the device.This article comes from cooperation projects between power plants and boiler department of guizhou Electric Power Testing & Research Institute, with a strong engineering background. Because the boiler thermal efficiency of the plant has been about 87 percent and failed to meet the boiler plant design value 91.85%. Low thermal efficiency of the boiler have impacted on the economic interests of the plant, but also brought pressure on energy conservation. By fluent6.3 three conditions were simulated in order to find solutions to optimize air distribution in the furnace, working conditions are set as follows:In the total amount of secondary air into the burner unchanged, the reference conditions for basis, by reducing the proportion of inner secondary air, changing swirl vane angle of the inner secondary air, changing swirl vane angle of outer secondary air. By simulating we find the main adjustment method to optimize temperature distribution and oxygen concentration distribution in the boiler initially, combined with commissioning experience in the same type boiler for many years, we eventually got optimaized scheme on improving the boiler thermal efficiency,ultimately the boiler thermal efficiency has been improved to 90.82%.
