The Aesthetic Expression Of Chinese Architecture Under The Influence Of Postmodernism

Post-modernization mentality is a general term that was generated between1960s and1970s. It covers literature, philosophy, criticism theory, architecture and design. It is never thesame concept as post-modernization. To put it this way, the post-modernization is about time,while the latter one gives definition to the style of architecture. In this sense, thepost-modernization architecture style, as referred to in this content, belongs to thepost-modernization mentality.This paper is based on postmodern architecture. Study of postmodern architecture thoughtthe specific impact on China’s architectural form, in the face of contemporary Chinesearchitecture design theory and practice of the status quo, research since the1980s Chinesearchitectural style of the theoretical and practical significance, main show is: one is thetheoretical value, through the study of contemporary Chinese architectural form, will help usfrom a historical perspective, the deep understanding of the contemporary Chinese architecturalform, technique characteristics, the evolution process of the objective understanding of thewestern post-modern architecture thought under the influence of the advantages and limitationsof contemporary Chinese architectural concept. Second, practical value, by studying thecontemporary architectural style to grasp the contemporary architecture philosophy, the finalpurpose is to guide practice, Chinese construction development direction to provide theoreticalsupport for the future.This paper will trace the historical way of Chinese architectural aesthetics, recall thehistorical contexts Chinese architecture, compare the diversified architectural styles of differentdynasties. It is based on the style differences between the western post-modernization mentalityand the new China. Still, this test will focus on the changes in Chinese architectural styles underwestern influences. Also, summary will be made on the related devices, along with thepossibility of improvement in this field.The content will be divided into four parts:Chapter one, introduction of the background of the post-modernization mentality and itsfeatures, from economic, technological, philosophy and architectural points.The postmodern architecture on technique characteristics mainly summarized as:"metaphor"、"context"、"decoration", and expounds the respective meaning respectively. In addition,from the point of view of social and cultural analysis of the postmodern is able to produce inChina. Chapter three, major part of this thesis, will draw conclusions about the combination ofthe post-modernization architectural mentality and Chinese architectural aesthetics on a timebasis. Such demonstrations will be divided into three categories, either: namely the newnationalism, the new regionalism and the style of creativity, innovation and uniqueness. Still,related conclusion will be draw at the same time.Chapter four，I will reflect on the Chinese architectural modernization choice and foretell itspossibility of progress in the future. Postmodern architecture, after all, is the product of thecontext of western culture, as it is after grafting to China, will inevitably produce differentchange, it also will force in the field of Chinese contemporary related researchers think hard, inthe context of culture, China’s construction should go.Finally, the author prospected the future architecture development in China: in the currenturbanization process accelerated, the western architectural culture in China, under the situationof eastern and western culture collide and blend, perhaps China’s future constructiondevelopment direction can be two go hand in hand, on the one hand, based on Chinese traditionalculture, ideology and national conditions, development "new regionalism" architectural style.Development, on the other hand, should adhere to the "ecological architecture", in a "sustainabledevelopment" attitude to construction activities. Called for the future construction must be in thebalance between human and nature harmonious coexistence.
