Individual photoelectric reconnaissance technology played a very important role in the field of target detection. It was one of the most important means of battlefield reconnaissance. Researching about equipment applicable to man-portable photoelectric detection was of great significance for military reconnaissance. In this paper, a research of photoelectric imaging module from the aspect of the target detection program, optical structure design, assessment methods, etc. was carried out and provided a new method of reconnaissance and assessment for the military battlefield reconnaissance.According to the particularity of man-portable battlefield, the article aimed to design photoelectric imaging module with small size, light weight, high stability, and easy to carry. By the analysis of reconnaissance missions and means, physical quantities were selected. Combined with spectral characteristics, three channels of visible light, near infrared, and ultraviolet were selected for multispectral imaging. Program was demonstrated based on different criteria, the reconnaissance program was determined. After selecting image sensor and calculating the parameters of the lens, the lens was selected to meet the requirements of system metrics. The optical structure was determined and the multi-axis correction was studied. A method for image fusion algorithm was discussed to provide the basis for the system software and a weighted average fusion algorithm was introduced. Finally, the experiment of the prototype was carried out to achieve a multi-channel image acquisition and image fusion. This article provided a K-value method for extracting the target object from camouflage background. By obtaining of near-infrared and red image of target and the background, the gray value was extracted for comparison. The object was determined whether or not it was disguised according to the size ratio. Simulation results showed that the error was less than 6%.The experiments showed that this individual photoelectric imaging module is of high accuracy and good assessment effect. It was suitable for man-portable battlefield and had good feasibility.
