The steering gear is an important part of aircraft. Its performance has an impact on the accuracy of flight path of the aircraft. Increasing redundant is a way to improve the reliability of the servo system. A double-input planetary reducer used in the transmission device of an aerospace steering system was introduced in this paper. This paper completed the structure design of the double-input reducer according to the technical requirements. Then the dynamics of planetary gear transmission system were researched by using dynamic analysis software ADAMS.The parameters of the gear were determined by calculating many conditions, like transmission ratio, work conditions, adjacency condition, installation conditions and gear strength conditions. The strength analysis of the key parts such as planet carrier and gears were respectively done by using the method of theoretical calculation and finite element analysis.The precision of double-input planetary gear reducer are analyzed in theory. Then the transmission accuracy test of the prototype was completed. Theoretical analysis is proved to be correct by comparing the experimental data and theoretical data. The efficiency calculation formulas of the reducer under different ways of working were introduced. The efficiency test was done after producing the prototype.The dynamic models of planetary gear transmission system were respectively established by using centralized parameter method and finite element method. Natural frequencies are obtained by solving the models. The modal analysis of planet carrier, gear shaft and other parts were done by ANSYS.Rigid model and coupled model of the planetary gear transmission system were respectively established by using ADAMS. The result data were obtained by simulation. The simulation data were analyzed.
