With the development of modern war, the small caliber of terminal defense system have a big challenge. With the development of morden warfare, there are many kinds of intelligent and assault weapons, such as cruise missile, anti-ship missile, air-to-ground missile, guided bomb and etc. These weapons has the following features:extra-low-altitude, supersonic speeds, high penetration and high damage. To cope with this new weapons and new technologies, the small caliber of terminal defense system have to raise shooting speed. However, the small caliber naval gun still loads ammunition by low efficiency manual work, and the storing capacity of bullets box is limited. Battlefield is a race against time and the small caliber of terminal defense system cannot meet the requirements. So, designing a kind of loading ammunition system in intelligent and high speeds urgently need to be solved.This research based on the theory of modular system. The whole procedure was divide d into several modular, and each modular have a specific function. At first, each subsystem model by using outstanding 3D entities modeling software Solidworks was established. The three subsystems incolde storage unit, transmission unit and unit of ascension. In the end, the three subsystems was integrated into a whole part. According to the 3D integrated model, based on bond graph theory complicated dynamic model was set up. The dynamics simulation curve by operating the Bond—graph software was got. For critical transition part, to establish virtual prototype and implement kinematics simulation, ADAMS software was used.On the one hand, system dynamics simulation was made and the law of mechanical and physical properties of the system was studied. On the other hand, kinematics simulation of transition section was carried out. The finally result shows that intelligent and high speeds loading ammunition system agrees with the theoretical analysis. Therefore, this research can provides some reference value to the further research of small caliber of terminal defense system.
