Research On Redesign Design Of Quanzhou

Quanzhou marionette, with a history of over threethousands years, is an ancient folk art and the national intangible cultural heritage. Due to the complex of its manufacturing technique and high standards required in its operation and performance, it faces the difficulty in finding its successors. Besides, current researches on Quanzhou marionette are mostly on the perspective of its theatre culture, and relevant books of records are mostly on its history development, rare research on the design of Quanzhou marionette as a product.Based on that, the thesis the design theory of product family as the redesign method of Quanzhoumarionette,and manage to realize innovation and expansion to Quanzhou marionette products visually and functionally.First, on-site visits and investigations have been carried out to know the current status of Quanzhou marionette products, its culture and market. Investigations to other types of puppets have been also carried out at the same time, so as to produce comparators to contrast the characteristics of Quanzhou marionette. Based on the features found, the directions of Quanzhou marionette products redesign are put forwarded as,1). further dig regional characteristics; 2). function expansion; 3). simplification of current interaction forms.Through the feedback from questionnaires investigation, in-depth customer demands have been analyzed. Products redesign models are based on the clarified customer demands. After then, under guidance of product family design theory, each components of Quanzhou marionette are deconstructed, and tested with analysis of standardization, universalizationand modulization, so as to create a product platform with modules of different functions. These above will make. mass production of modules, products diversification and customization become feasible.At the end, combined with the innovative design ideas of product platform, Quanzhou marionetter products redesign will be practiced to illustrate the basic product redesign technique routes and approaches.
