It is an important means to study the near-field scattering and starting characteristics of radio fuze by establishing the virtual prototype of radio fuze. In this paper, the background is a certain type of pulse Doppler fuze. The fuze target entity model, target scattering model, echo signal processing model and visualization model of missile target encounter are established. And the overall performance of the fuze is reflected by digital simulation. The main work of this paper is as follows:(1) Firstly, the composition structure and working principle of pulse Doppler fuze are studied. According to the Doppler effect, analyze the process of mutual close in missile target, target center Doppler frequency variation.(2) Geometric modeling technology is studied, which is applicable to the calculation of the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the target in the near field. The geometric model of the target is constructed by using the method of polygon modeling. And the geometrical shape of the target is described as a combination of triangular facets. Through reading the STL file data form the target model, the calculation of the near-field scattering characteristics of fuze target is accomplished based on the physical optics.(3) By researching on the working principle of the pulse Doppler fuze, the mathematical model of pulse Doppler fuze is established combined with the target scattering characteristic model. The mathematical expression of the various functions of the fuze and the expression of the input and output signals are given. The target scattering characteristics data (RCS) and system parameters are used as inputs, the received echo signals are analyzed through wave filtering, base frequency extraction, to get the Doppler information which contains target’s velocity and range information.(4) The sky background,3D terrain and particle system are modeled based on OpenGL 3D graphics library. Because of this, the virtual battlefield environment visualization is realized, combined with setting of the parameters of missile-target rendezvous, the visual simulation of the missile’s rendezvous in the virtual battlefield environment is completed finally.
