The reliable operation of the power protocol in power system is related much to the data transmission and exchange of the power secondary equipment. At present, large number of protocol flooded into power market with the start of electricity market, as well as the popularization of smart grid. Power equipment will apply different protocol to communicate, in different regions and under different applications. And the diversity of the protocol has a great impact on the requirements of the consistency and interoperability of power network communication technology. This paper combined with 101,104 remote protocol, DI7T645 Electric energy meter communication protocol and IEC61850 standard on the current market mainstream. It developed a set of communication automatic adaptation system of an electric power secondary equipment heterogeneous protocol and solve the problem of the interconnection between heterogeneous protocols.Through the analysis of power equipment protocols message format and transmission process, this paper set up a protocol mapping models. It applies a formal description method and combined with the XML language to establish the protocol description documents based on XML. It also developed an automatic communication adapter system of the secondary electric power equipment based on factory mode method heterogeneous protocol communication automatic adaptation system based on and realized the matching and conversion between protocols. The main research contents are as follows:(1) Through the analysis of the three mainstream protocols, EC101, IEC104 and DL/T645 as well as IEC61850 protocol message format and transmission process, we discovered that each protocol message composition unit has some similar characteristics. According to the heterogeneous features of these protocol messages, we designed a message field mapping mechanism between the traditional protocol and IEC61850.(2) On the basis of analyzing formal description method. Combined the characteristics of heterogeneous protocol message format, we set up a protocol abstract frame model, and used XML description language to do a formal description of the protocol abstract frame according to the definition and specification of XML document tag. we created a generic XML protocol document template which used 4 layers of tree structure that can represent the majority of the protocol message information. According to Twig query mode, we verified the feasibility of the formal description method of heterogeneous protocols which based on XML.(3) The factory mode was used to set up an automatic communication adapter system of the secondary electric power equipment.. First of all, we had a detailed description of the system function.In the design process, we used the factory pattern method to separate the object and the external resources effectively, created factory classes and implementation classes, which made the system has a good scalability. According to me XML protocol document, the system identified and analyzed the protocol, and combined with the XML protocol configuration file, the matching and conversion were achieved between the protocols. And we used the Black-box Testing to test the system function, the results showed that the system had completed the matching and conversion of the protocols, it was consistent with expectations.
