In photovoltaic power generation system, the light intensity on the photovoltaic array is often occurred because of the blocking or other factors. This situation is not expected to happen, because it not only affects the efficiency of the output power of a solar photovoltaic power generation system, and may even safety and stability of the system is unfavorable, light intensity in the cell array do not spur of the moment, the output characteristics of PV array will appear multiple peak, this case, the conventional maximum power point tracking algorithm is failure.When partial shade changed, the P-V characteristics of photovoltaic panels may appear multi-peak values. A new global maximum power region search algorithm (FMA) is proposed to find near the peak quickly and effectively in this paper. Combined with the improved INC method, the algorithm can find the global maximum power. Meanwhile, a reasonable selected threshold of the INC algorithm not only can reduce the error and stable output, but also effectively reduce output volatility to avoid the power losses and improve the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation. The simulation results show that the new algorithm can find the global maximum power under the conditions of complex multi-peak P-V characteristics, and has more prominent tracking performance.
