This thesis has developed an on-line testing system for the piston refrigerating compressors based on Web technology through Intranet/Internet. It has successfully reformed the old testing system on condition of single computer that was come into force in the Dec 1993.Firstly the paper analyses compressors' basic parameters and performance figure,then projects the overall system plan which adopted the foremost testing and control technology. The system selects the highly reliable industrial PC and I/O board to reform the hardware of the old one. The I/O board directly connects the signal of the temperature and the pressure,and adopts effective anti-jamming measure. The hardware of system is more compact,reliable and economical than the old system.Microsoft Visual C++ 5.0 is chosen as software developing tool under Windows 95/98. The program has adopted OOP (object oriented programming) to accomplish all kinds of program,such as I/O interface program,Web releasing program,CGI program. The testing system can accomplish automatically data acquisition,quality judgement,showing result in graph,storing data in database online and releasing the information of testing on web. It adopts the multithreading and multi-process to schedule all kinds of operation and fully makes use of the advance and the maneuverability of Windows 95/98. The man-machine interface based on GUI is friendly,intuitionistic and convenient. It completely meets the requirement of the on-line testing for piston refrigerating compressors.The testing system connects Intranet by means of the Client/Sever. The IPC is used as the Web Server in Intranet/Internet,and the information about the testing system is released by means of the web page. The Client uses the standard and universal web browser to visit and supervise the process of the testing compressor or to query the result. The system uses WWW to transmit information and then owns a standard graphic user's interface which spans different platform of hardware and operating system.The test running of this system proves it is successful,and the scheme of the hardware and the software accord with the trend of testing and control technology. It would be valuable for reference when developing similar testing systems.
