Study On The Application Of Geographics Information System In Distribution Management System

Distribution Management System(DMS) and Distribution Automation(DA) are indispensable tools of control and management for middle and low voltage electric network in city . At the basis of introducing the significance and usage of Geographies Information System(GLS) in DMS , the characteristic of eletrical GIS are discussed, and several popular GIS software platform are compared in this paper. In combination with the design and development of the Automated Mapping/Facilities ManagementlGlS subsystem in CSDA2000(DMS), the design methodology and development process for electrical GIS are studied . Moreover , the feasibility of GIS as the basic platform for DMS is analysed , the standardization for electrical GIS and more usage of GIS in electric network are prospected.
