While the scientific technology developing at a tremendous speed, the level of hydro-generator manufacturing is increasing. Now the F-Class insulation standard for generator is adopted, and CAD for hydraulic design has spread, and advanced theory in hydraulic design is applied, and insulation materials are discovered, and precise processing techniques are under research. In the hydroelectric industry it's necessary to increase the generating units' installed capacity to take advantage of an old power plant and to raise the utilization ratio of water power energy.Designed in 1970s and commissioned in 1980s, Gezhouba P.P. has serviced for more than 20 years. Upgrading and retrofitting of old equipment and capacity-increasing are inevitable to ensure it's stable service and future development, and to keep or add to the national asset's value.Based on the actual condition of Gezhouba Hydroeletric Power Plant, this paper points out the basic way for unit increasing capacity rebuilding of this plant after serious analysis and site review of lots of information of unit increasing capacity of hydroelectric unit at home and abroad. For this rerebuilding plan, we have made a lot of experiment and analyzed the data, the result show that the unit increasing capacity is necessary and feasible in this plant, additional, this paper describes project management, organization struture, management method, and evaluates this project value. In general speaking, this paper has deeply researched the unit increasing capacity for improving hydraulic power utilization of our country, and this paper is a guide for unit increasing capacity working of Gezhouba Hydroelectric Power Plant and other hydroelecrtic plants.
