With the development of highrise building, many new problems in. structures are gotten up. The temperature effect on the structures is one of them.On the basis of the primary concepts of thermal conduction and thermal physical property of concrete material, the distributions of temperature in concrete structures are discussed in this thesis, the causes resulting in temperature-effected deformation and internal forces in the elements of the structures are analyzed. Moreover, the practical approaches, such as continuous method, iteration method, finite element method, are suggested to calculate the deformations and internal forces above. From a 50-story frame-core structural system as a basic model, the distributions of the deformations and internal forces due to the variation of structural temperature are analyzed by finite element method. In the numerical analysis, four different temperature loads are taken into account. Furthermore, the temperature-effected deformations and internal forces in the structure are discussed separately under the following cases: the variations in the cross sections of columns, beams and the settings of rigid reinforcing story. Finally, a conclusion and sun~iiary is made in the thesis and some effective measures to reduce the temperature effects on R.C. higbrise buildings are proposed. And also some design suggestions considering the temperature effects are proposed.
