Large Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT) run in complicated environment, the load it endured is also very complicated. But the load calculation and intensity analysis are very important basic work for HAWT design. This paper investigated the method of determining the reference frame when calculating the load; the means of classification load; the method of calculating static state stress on different kinds of load. Then it focus on how to determine the equivalent load, how to determine the fatigue load spectrum. It also expatiate on the Simplified Load Proof Method and Cumulated Damnification Proof Method. Then it expatiate the method to predicate the ultimate load, made the fatigue dynamic load's pilot calculation. Finally it use the Finite Element Method (FEM) software ANSYS, calculated one of the HAWT's component, got the stress map and strain map of this component, verified the validity of the method.
