Graduate Thesis of North China Electric Power University BeijingAbstractAbstractPower system is one of the most complex dynamic systems created by man, and the nature of oscillatory instability has mystified many practicing engineers. This dissertation concentrates on the research of power system low frequency oscillations. Comparison of kinds of analyses for electromechanical oscillations, improvements of Prony analysis, and the application of Prony method to the data obtained through field measure are comprehensively studied in the paper. The main points of this dissertation are listed as following:1.The paper presents summary discussions and comparative results as well as analysis of some methods for electromechanical oscillations. Although every method has its characters, it also exists some disadvantages. In order to solve these problems, the Prony analysis for power system oscillation is used.2.To show what is Prony analysis exactly, how to improve it, and explain three-signal processing tools, Fourier transform, Wavelets, Prony analysis.3.Simulation with MATLAB, and the use of Prony analysis to the field data measured in the network of the south of Hebei Province are showed in the dissertation.
