The inverter using DC/DC converter topology is a four-quadrant converter made up of several DC/DC converters in series or parallel. In this thesis, an inverter using DC/DC topology is presented. This inverter consists of a two-quadrant DC/DC converter and an inverted bridge in series, which has a lot of merits such as: the amount of the power switch working in high frequency situation is reduced; it has not the risk of short-circuit; the volume and the weight of the filter is minished. The operation principle of this inverter using DC/DC converter topology is deeply analyzed and studied. A small signal model of this inverter is established to research the performance of the system. With theoretical studying and computer simulation, the design criterions of key circuit parameters are gained.A prototype for 500VA 115F/400//Z inverter using DC/DC converter topology is successfully designed and developed. The test results demonstrate that the design objective is met.
