In this thesis, The academic foundation, circuit topology, operation principle, control scheme and parameters design of the two new-style EDM powers are discussed in detail.Current sources of 20A/25V and 50A/25V are designed using the parallel two-transistor forward DC/DC converter. The output current can be modulated to a certain extent. Based on the current sources designed, 20A peak current composite-structure current mode EDM power and 20A^ 50A peak current two-stage current mode EDM power are built. The correctness of the designing method and the topology have been verified by experiment. The simulation results are consistent with experiment results of theoretic prototypes. Research and experiment verify that two-stage current mode EDM power has more advantages than composite-structure current mode EDM power.The engineering prototype of 20A peak current new-style EDM power are built based on the two-stage current mode EDM power.
