Two new analytic methods of tall frame - shear wall structure are presented in this paper. The one is orthogonal polynomial Galerkin method. This method is a simplified method. The method applies to analyzing the structure with stable stiffness. It takes the function made up of Legendre orthogonal polynomial as displacement function, and use Galerkin method to solve this function. The method's calculating formulas is very simple, so the method can avoid the great calculating difficulty of traditional simplified methods. The other is story arrangement method. The method is a continuum - discretization method. After connecting beams are treated with continuum technique, the whole structure is considered as a cantilever, and is then divided into discrete arrangements. Compared with traditional finite element methods, story arrangement method has fewer degrees of freedom, so it is very simple in calculation. The method applies to analyzing the structure with variable stiffness. In this paper, structural dynamic characteristics is calculated in story arrangement method, and it's calculating is simple. Finally,several examples are given to demonstrate that two methods not only are simple but also have high accuracy. It proves to be two effective methods.
