The principles and implements of the existing fuzzy predictive control methods thoroughly are summarized. And then a fuzzy model-based adaptive predictive control method according to the characters of the thermal engineering processes in power stations is presented based on the analyses of fuzzy identification and a kind of simplified MPC. Compared with the conventional control methods, the proposed one is more robust and simpler for tuning online. At the end of the thesis, the proposed fuzzy adaptive predictive control is employed into an outlet temperature control system for superheaters of a certain boiler unit with 600MW power. The results of simulations show that this temperature control system is well adaptive to the alteration of the unit's load and meets the deigned requirements.
